Three different Calgary organic/natural grocery chains were visited in July 2019. Prices were then compared to the online grocer SPUD.ca and then buying direct from various farms listed here on Food Genie. We tried to compare apples to apples in terms of products and cuts as best we could. There are variations that will affect prices slightly. This price list is not comprehensive, but will give you a good idea of how much you can save.
Prices are averages only and subject to change without notice.

Why are chickens direct from farms more expensive? It’s because chicken directly from farms are fresh, fresh, fresh. An even bigger reason…pastured chickens are actually more nutritious! And to top it all off – there really is no comparison in terms of taste. Try eating fresh once and you won’t go back.
